For three years in a row, Nuv Yug India Fest is held in Raleigh and Charlotte. In 2017, for the first time the total number of stage performers are Raleigh and Charlotte exceeds 3,200.
Nuv Yug partners with several local organizations to grow community participation. Both locations also host Nuv Yug IDOL singing competition. For two years in a row, Nuv Yug India Fest is held in Raleigh and Charlotte. This year, the Raleigh event moves to a new venue at the Exposition Center at the State Fairgrounds.
Thousands of performers shared the stage at Nuv Yug events during 2016. Nuv Yug partners with several local organizations to grow community participation. Torsha Sarkar and Rakesh Maini headline both Raleigh and Charlotte festivals. Raleigh also starts Raleigh Indian Idol Singing competition. In addition, the Charlotte chapter also organized the following community events:
November 6: 5K Run to raise awareness on the benefits of walking and running in promoting a healthier lifestyle in the community. During 2015, Nuv Yug helps start the Charlotte edition of India Fest.
Over 2,600 performers share the stage at Nuv Yug events during 2015. Nuv Yug continues to work closely with other communities who express interest in bringing a similar festival to their city based on Nuv Yug's successful processes and system. 11th Annual India
Fest 2014 - Your Gateway to India This year, Nuv Yug India Fest included 1,526 performers on stage during the festival. It has become the largest such production in the United States of America. On Saturday, famous Bollywood singer Shalmali Kholgade entertained the audience. During the 2nd half of 2014, community members from other large cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte and Tampa learn about Nuv Yug India Fest and express interest in bringing a similar festival to their city. Local committees are being organized to host a Nuv Yug India Fest based on Raleigh's successful processes and system. 10th Annual India
Fest 2013 - Your Gateway to India Nuv Yug's India Fest included 1,266 performers on stage during the festival. It now boasts of being the largest such production in the United States of America. On Saturday, Darshana Menon and Jeffrey Iqbal of SaReGaMaPa fame entertained the audience. On Sunday, Diwakar Dance Productions provided a dazzling dance show. Both days witnessed a variety of non-stop dance and music presentations. This was the first year, participants were selected by a group of Community Judges in addition to Nuv Yug's Committee of Judges. Vendors from as far as Chicago, Florida, New Jearsey and Georgia completed the exhibition Indian Traditional Crafts. Area's four top restaurants provided a variety of culinary delicacies. We look forward to presenting the 11th annual India Fest during the weekend of March 22-23, 2014.

Fest 2012 - Your Gateway to India Meiyang Chang of Indian Idol, India's Got Talent and Dancing with Stars headlined India Fest on Saturday, March 24, 2012. The rocked the arena and electrified the audience by jumping into the crowd. India Fest stage show continues to grow significantly year over year. This was the first year when participants learned their audition results before they left the audition venue. An online judging system made was utilized to track and display performers' score on a TV screen.

Fest 2011 - Your Gateway to India This year, the number of stage performers has grown to almost 1,200. The mega production utilized leading edge technology to manage and schedule over 100 performances during the two day festival. The winner of Indian Idol 5, Sreeram and a finalist Tia Kar enthralled the audience on Saturday evening. The show went on until late and young and adults were dancing and humming to their tunes.

Fest 2010 - Your Gateway to India Indian playback singing queen, Shreya Ghoshal rocked the Dorton arena on the evening of March 19, 20010. Over 100 dance and music groups presented a cultural program during the three day festival. Traditional crafts vendors from Florida to New York and Chicago provided a wide array of selection for visitors. The cultural cuisine was served by the best local restaurants. India
Fest 2009 - Your Gateway to India Indian Idol winner Prashant Tamang entertained and mesmerized the audience at India Fest 2009.
A record breaking number of stage performers registered for India Fest 2009. On February 7, they auditioned to be selected for the stage performance. As a result, an unprecedented one thousand stage performers including auditioned and invited artist presented over one hundred dance and music performances at India Fest this year. This year, for the first time, we introduced an online paperless system for many aspects of the festival. In spite of the wet weather on Saturday, India Fest attracted 8,000 visitors during the weekend. Fest 2008 - Your Gateway to India India Fest 2008 attracted 8,000 attendees. A band from Mumbai entertained the audience on Saturday and Indian Idol star Amit Paul rocked the arena on Sunday. The audience danced with Amit and many stood in line to get his autograph. This year's India Fest set new heights with approximately 800 performers sharing the stage during the two day festival. Vendors from New York to Florida provided a variety of traditional crafts and cuisine choices to visitors.

Finale of India Fest 2007. NuvYug, the organizers of India Fest, has been organizing India Fest for the past four years. Every year, India Fest has increased attendance at a steady pace. This year's theme of "Scintillating Spices" was well arranged and enjoyed by all visitors. Liz Colt, publisher of Carolina Parent, quoted “It was a lot of fun - performances were great, food delicious and lots of shopping opportunities for music, books, clothes and jewelry”. Muqabala
An afternoon filled with music, rhythm and pulse rising excitement. Nuvyug presented, first ever at this scale in the Triangle area, the grand Antakshari Muqabala at Milan Banquet Hall on May 15th, 2005. This, one of the most popular Indian pastimes, was custom made for our participants. We bent the rules, added new rounds and altogether spiced it up to make the experience an unforgettable one. A total of sixteen teams registered for the competition and had to go through two preliminary knock out rounds to secure one of the six spots in the grand finale. The rounds consisted of audio-visual clips, dhun, actor-singer and other exciting movie trivia in addition to the standard Antakshari. An interesting twist was added via dumbsherads and pictionary rounds. Live musicians provided accompaniment. Buzzer rounds ensured a thrilling, nail-biting finish. The audience was kept involved throughout with continuous audience rounds and prizes. A brief survey after the event indicated that the attendees were more than satisfied with the event, with some comparing it to similar events in the Bay area and others going on to the extent of comparing it to Zee TV Antakshari. This fun filled, enthusiastic and favourite game of all times, highlights the principle of picking up links and continuing. And Nuvyug hopes and plans to continue bringing many more such events and experiences to Triangle residents. Top of Page India

This years theme was Indian Cinema - A Reflection of Indian Culture. An exquisite exhibition on this theme combined with an exuberant display of ethnic clothing mesmerized the people with its charm. Top

Santoor Maestro Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya presented a Santoor Tabla Jugalbandi
Concert with Abhishek Basu. Both artists traveled from India for this
show. Camp
Nuv Yug This year's camp was directed by Mrs. Rama Pillai. She was assisted by youth counselors. Together they provided a unique opportunity for campers to learn about India in a fun-filled daily routine. Apart from regular indoors and outdoors games, arts and crafts, morning yoga lesson, campers also participated in storytelling, Indian History and Health Awareness among other activities. The first India Fest: Your Gateway to India was held at J.S. Dorton Arena, State Fairgrounds, Raleigh on Saturday, September 27th. It was a phenomenal success. It attracted 4,000 people to an all day celebration of multi-religious, multi-lingual and diverse Indian cultural arts. Visitors enjoyed an array of scintillating dance and music from various regions of India which continued all day. The afternoon was capped by a breathtaking sequence of dance by various groups including a variety of Indian classical and folk dance forms such as Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Bhangra, and Dandia. The Alaap group started the evening with melodious songs from the 60's and 70's to 90's. Kalashri Supriya Desai and her graduate students presented the grand finale show consisting of Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi classical dance styles and ended with a beautiful modern folk dance. The festival also consisted of a dozen traditional crafts vendors who provided a variety of clothing, home decor, and jewelry items in bazaar style. Highlights of the bazaar were the 22K gold and diamond jewelry show by Zaveri jewelers of Atlanta and a wide array of books and audio/video selection presented by Nataraj book store of Virginia. The well appointed cultural cuisine area was represented by top four Indian restaurants of the Triangle area. Visitors enjoyed delicious vegetarian and chicken delicacies. Dhamaka The first Bhangra Dhamaka has been a tremendous success. Around
300 children, youth and adults participated in a scintillating contest.
Well coordinated upbeat Bhangra dance and music, breathtaking costumes
and props with attention to detail, and above all uplifting spirit of
dancers kept the audience spell bound. Nuv Yug's president, Ujjwal Srivastava,

Fest 2007 was the biggest ever in the history of Raleigh. On a cold
and windy weekend, people from all descend poured into Dorton Arena
in Raleigh to view splendid performances from local artists of Raleigh.
India Fest attracted more than 6500 viewers, 570 participants and 85
different performances. And one world famous artist from India. It was
Saturday evening and the House was full because it was time for Usha
Uthup with a live band. 
This
year's India Fest was the largest production of an Indian Cultural
Show ever presented in the Triangle area. Over three hundred dance
and music enthusiasts and professionals presented over fifty items
during the two day celebration spanning over fifteen hours of nonstop
entertainment!
